ERETforce Blister Packs contain Eretmocerus eremicus, a proven biological control agent for whiteflies. These beneficial wasps are widely used in greenhouse and field crops to keep infestations under control without chemicals. They offer growers a sustainable, effective option for protecting vegetables, ornamentals, and other crops.
How it Works
Female wasps actively search out whitefly nymphs, placing their eggs underneath them. Once the eggs hatch, the young wasp larvae burrow into the nymph and feed internally, eventually killing the host. Adult wasps may also feed on whitefly nymphs directly. Newly emerged adults continue to move through the crop, locating additional hosts and spreading control naturally.
Targets These Species
-
Greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum)
-
Sweet potato whitefly (Bemisia tabaci)
-
Additional whitefly species in greenhouse and outdoor crops
Ideal Conditions
-
Temperature: 68–85°F (20–29°C)
-
Moderate to high humidity improves survival and activity
-
Best results in enclosed or partially protected growing environments
Application Instructions
Introduce blister packs at the first sign of whiteflies or as a preventive measure in crops prone to infestation. Hang packs evenly throughout the crop canopy, with more placed in problem areas. Repeat applications as needed to maintain pressure on whitefly populations. E. eremicus pairs well with Encarsia formosa and other natural enemies as part of an IPM program.
Release Rates
-
Light infestations: 0.5–2 per 10 sq. ft., every two weeks
-
Moderate infestations: 5–20 per 10 sq. ft., weekly to biweekly
-
Highly susceptible crops may benefit from weekly preventative introductions
Where to Use
Shipping and Storage
ERETforce Blister Packs are delivered as parasitized whitefly pupae that will soon hatch into active adults. For best results, release immediately upon receipt. If short-term storage is unavoidable, keep packs in a dark location at 50–59°F (10–15°C) for no more than 24 hours.
Quick Tips
-
Begin introductions early to keep whiteflies from establishing.
-
Do not use pesticides before or after release, as residues reduce wasp survival.
-
Combine with yellow sticky cards for monitoring pest and beneficial populations.
-
Works best in warm, humid environments where whiteflies are most active.
